Update -- Wasdin, a long reliever, will draw the emergency start in place of injured Kenny Rogers, and the Rangers can only hope the right-hander is as effective as he was against the Angels on June 21, when he replaced struggling starter Chan Ho Park and threw 5 1/3 scoreless, five-hit innings in the Rangers’ 8-6 loss. Washburn has been every bit as dominant as any other Angel starter in his last eight games, giving up 16 earned runs in 52 innings for a 2.77 earned-run average.
