BASEBALL
* Corey Jones, Camarillo: Had a game-winning home run in the seventh inning and had a two-run double in the fifth in a 4-3 victory over Santa Ana Foothill in the second round of the Southern Section Division II playoffs.
* Brandon Laird, Westminster La Quinta: His three-run home run in the ninth inning made him the winning pitcher and gave Coach Dave Demarest his 700th career victory in a 7-4 Division II win over Quartz Hill. Laird (11-1), who had four hits and four RBIs, pitched four innings of relief.
SOFTBALL
* Kelliann McCarty, Saugus: Finished with two hits and two RBIs, including a two-out, game-winning RBI double in the eighth inning, in a 4-3 victory over Los Alamitos in the second round of the Division I playoffs.
