at Oakland 11, Seattle 2: Nick Swisher had a three-run double and drove in four runs to help Kirk Saarloos (5-6) win for the first time in more than two months. Eric Chavez had an run-scoring double, and Jason Kendall and Frank Thomas each singled in runs in Oakland’s fifth consecutive victory.
at New York 6, Baltimore 3: Johnny Damon hit a tying home run and Robinson Cano sliced a run-scoring double in the seventh inning as the Yankees rallied to hand the Orioles their fifth consecutive loss.
at Minnesota 4, Cleveland 1: The Twins stopped Cleveland’s six-game winning streak behind the pitching of Johan Santana, who threw eight shutout innings of three-hit ball. Santana (14-5) struck out nine and walked one before Joe Nathan gave up a run-scoring single in the ninth.
Toronto 4, at Tampa Bay 3: Roy Halladay became the first 15-game winner in the major leagues. Halladay (15-3) had been tied at 14 wins with Detroit’s Justin Verlander and Boston’s Curt Schilling. Tampa Bay has lost seven in a row.
Kansas City 4, at Chicago 2: Mark Teahen and Emil Brown homered, and the Royals stopped the White Sox’s five-game winning streak.
