California settles with UnitedHealth

California joined a 37-state settlement with UnitedHealth Group Inc., the largest U.S. health insurer, over accusations that one of the company’s units violated state law involving claims payments.
United Healthcare agreed to pay a fine of as much as $20 million nationwide, and $260,293.80 of that will be paid to the state, California Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner said.
