Tops at KROQ’s big concert

The Inland Invasion of old has moved on to a new battleground, and the high-concept mix of old and new acts has been de-emphasized. But under any name -- try L.A. Invasion -- KROQ-FM’s big summer concert is a must for the station’s rock fans, with the main attraction being the Los Angeles debut of the reconstituted Smashing Pumpkins. The return of the Foo Fighters is also a highly anticipated event, and there’s plenty more, including Velvet Revolver, Kid Rock, Chris Cornell, Cypress Hill, Perry Farrell’s Satellite Party, Hot Hot Heat, Against Me! and Paramore.
