Musician held on DUI charge

Bon Jovi lead guitarist Richie Sambora was arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of driving under the influence, police said Wednesday.
Sambora, 48, failed a series of sobriety tests after being pulled over south of downtown Laguna Beach shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday, Sgt. Jason Kravetz said.
The musician chose a blood test over a Breathalyzer test, Kravetz said. His blood-alcohol level was above the legal limit of 0.08%, but a specific level would not be available for at least a week, Kravetz said.
Officers observed Sambora in a black Hummer straddling lanes and pulled him over. The misdemeanor arrest took place without incident, and Sambora, who was described as “very cooperative,” was later released on his own recognizance, Kravetz said.
Police are considering whether to seek child endangerment charges in the case because there were two minors in the vehicle, Kravetz said.
Sambora is due in court for a hearing in the case May 7.
