RIM has largest share of market

Research in Motion Ltd. captured more than 50% of the U.S. smart-phone market in the second quarter, up sharply from first-quarter levels, according to technology research firm IDC.
Apple Inc., maker of the iPhone, and Palm Inc. both lost market share in the second three months of the year.
The IDC numbers show that Research in Motion, maker of the BlackBerry wireless device, held 53.6% of the U.S. market for smart phones in the second quarter, up from 44.5% in the first quarter.
