CALIFORNIA BRIEFING / SAN DIEGO

An appearance on the “Dr. Phil” television show may have gotten a San Marcos couple in trouble with the San Diego Regional Fraud Task Force.
Laura and Matthew Eaton told the host in November that for several years they were “professional shoplifters,” making up to $100,000 a year.
Agents from the task force -- which includes the Secret Service, San Diego Police Department, U.S. Postal Service and district attorney’s office -- served a search warrant last week at the Eatons’ home.
