West: No. 4 TCU gets easy victory

No. 4 Texas Christian 45, at Wyoming 10: Matthew Tucker and Joseph Turner each ran for two touchdowns, and the Horned Frogs (11-0, 7-0) routed the Cowboys (5-6, 3-4) for their best start in 71 years. The win keeps TCU in the thick of BCS contention and clinches at least a share of the Mountain West Conference crown. TCU last went 11-0 in 1938.
In other Mountain West games: Max Hall threw five touchdowns passes and set a school record with his 30th win as No. 19 Brigham Young (9-2, 5-1) rolled to a 38-21 win over visiting Air Force (7-5, 5-3). . . . Eddie Wide rushed for 84 yards and two touchdowns and No. 23 Utah (9-2, 6-1) scored all of its points in the first half in a 38-7 win over San Diego State (4-7, 2-5). . . . James Aho’s 27-yard field goal with 12 seconds left sent host New Mexico (1-10, 1-6) to a 29-27 win over Colorado State (3-8, 0-7) to end its 14-game losing streak.
In Western Athletic Conference games: Kevin Goessling’s 35-yard field goal on the final play lifted host Fresno State (7-4, 6-2) to a 30-28 victory over Louisiana Tech (3-8, 2-5). . . . Leon Wright-Jackson scored on a five-yard touchdown run in overtime to lift Hawaii (5-6, 3-5) to a 17-10 win over host San Jose State (1-9, 0-6). . . . Nevada (8-3, 7-0) rushed for 574 yards, led by Luke Lippincott’s 162, as the Wolf Pack rolled to a 63-20 win at New Mexico State (3-8, 1-5).
In games involving Southland teams: Cameron Higgins threw for 364 yards and four touchdowns to lead host Weber State (7-4) to a 47-14 win over Cal Poly SLO (4-7). . . . Aaron Boehme threw three touchdown passes and also rushed for 99 yards and a score to lead host Linfield, Ore. (10-0) to a 38-17 win over Cal Lutheran (8-2) in the first round of the NCAA Division III playoffs.
