An intensive search for a Marine’s 19-year-old pregnant wife continued Thursday at Joshua Tree National Park, where about a dozen search and rescue volunteers were on the ground, assisted by a sheriff’s helicopter in the air, authorities said.
Erin Corwin, who is three months’ pregnant, disappeared five days ago after leaving her Twentynine Palms home. Her Toyota Corolla was found in the city on Monday, San Bernardino County sheriff’s officials said.

FOR THE RECORD

Corwin was last seen leaving her home about 7 a.m. Saturday, apparently headed to Joshua Tree National Park. Her husband reported her missing Sunday.
Crews have focused their search at the park and surrounding areas, although authorities said there was no indication in her car of her direction of travel or current whereabouts.
Homicide detectives are also investigating her disappearance.
Corwin was described as 5 feet, 2 inches tall, weighing 120 pounds and having brown hair and blue eyes.
Anyone with information about Corwin is asked to call the sheriff’s Specialized Investigation Division at (909) 387-3589 or dispatch at (909) 387-8313.
