Letters: Showing restraint

Re “Potential cure, if you can stomach it,” Jan. 17
Times reporter Monte Morin has my admiration and respect for the incredible level of decorum and outright maturity he showed in his article about the effectiveness of fecal transplants for the treatment of intestinal infections.
That Morin had to refer to Dr. Colleen Kelly, “a vocal proponent of fecal transfusions” and a gastroenterologist from Brown University, without once degenerating into a host of inappropriate and juvenile jokes must have required the restraint of a superhero.
Unfortunately, this means many of us have had to come up with our own jokes.
