Readers React: Don’t waste California water on fracking

To the editor: Thank you for the editorial describing the wasteful water practices involved in hydraulic fracturing (fracking) and the danger of permanently contaminating California aquifers, which have become especially critical freshwater resources during the drought. (“California needs to overhaul its protection of groundwater,” Editorial, July 31)
I agree that the state needs to overhaul its protection of groundwater. The first step should be an immediate and complete moratorium, statewide, on fracking.
