LANCASTER - Orange Coast College athletes provided a good indicator
for the rest of the state with what they have to contend with this year
in cross country as the women’s team posted a 2-5-7-8-10-11-12 finish to
swallow the field at the Southern California Preview meet at Antelope
Valley College Friday.
“Both teams were really outstanding,” said OCC Coach John Goldman.
“The men had a really, really good race. It was a great team effort.”
While the OCC women were posting a winning score of 32 with Mt. San
Antonio (43), San Diego Mesa (95) and El Camino (135) in the shadows, it
was Ryan Bousquet of Orange Coast posting the top mark of the day in the
men’s four-mile, with a time of 22:38.17, a 5.39 pace for a mile.
The men were third overall (101 points) behind San Diego Mesa (46) and
Mt. SAC (89).
