Bob’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream will be featured at the Orange County
Swap Meet for the first time this weekend as part of a fund-raiser to
help the Costa Mesa Senior Center.
The nonprofit, multipurpose facility will reap all of the proceeds
from sales of ice cream Saturday and Sunday at the swap meet at the
Orange County Fairgrounds, 55 Fair Drive, in Costa Mesa.
The center provides a variety of programs to seniors including
education and health care, nutrition and home-delivered meals, support
groups, crisis intervention, housing assistance, employment training,
transportation, recreation, volunteer activities, social services and
referral information.
Costa Mesa City Councilwoman Linda Dixon, also the council’s liaison
to the Costa Mesa Senior Center, Aviva Goelman, executive director for
the Costa Mesa Senior Center, and other local officials will be on hand
for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bob’s Old Fashioned
Ice Cream, which is near the swap meet’s Original Snack Bar.
It will be $2 for seniors while children 12 and younger get in free
Saturday and Sunday. It will also include admission to the new Automotive
Road of Dreams, a museum collection of 28 antique, rare, classic and
celebrity cars.
The swap meet is open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday.
Call (949) 723-66660 for swap meet information; (949) 645-2356 for
