AYSO Region 57: Spitfires cool off the Flaming Ice

The Spitfires, a boys 14-and-under team from AYSO Region 57, used
goals from Andrew Garten and Shian Jalall to defeat the Flaming Ice, 2-0,
Saturday afternoon.
Russell Mycorn had a key assist in the win, while Spitfire goalie
Philip Bannan stopped several shots headed for paydirt.
With balanced attack, the Spitfires were led defensively by Jack
Tyson, Alex Neff, Grant Heffernan, Andrew Dialynas, Casey Adamczyk, Scott
Feeley, Anthony Morreale, Jeffery Livingston and Trevor Swinney.
In boys under-12 Plus action:
CdM Blazers 3, Rancho Santa Margarita 1 - Nick Freeman, Scott Thomsen
and Kevin Kottke each scored goals to lead the Blazers to victory.
The Blazers controlled the midfield with the strong play of John
Leonard, Parker Rhodes, Morgan Brombal and Thomas Dialynas, while on
defense, J.P. Gormly, Riley Sullivan, Taylor Stone, Michael Bear, Michael
Page and Andy Morrow held RSM to only one goal.
In boys under-12 action:
Pyros 2, Silverware 1 - Austin Harms and Ori Tabak each scored for the
Pyros, while Michael Hay and Crisco Elliott anchored the defense. Harms
and Matt Langel each played well in goal, while John Lockhart controlled
the midfield and Chase Stark and Karan Sahni kept the offense flowing.
In girls under-10 action:
California Surfer Girls 3, Slammers 0 - Hayley Votolato, Katie de
Miranda and Claire Ham each scored goals for the Surfer Girls, while
Brooke del Miranda, Monica Schnapp, Natalie Rempalski, Megan
Wurzelbacher, Tess Crane and Nassim Eghtebas each played strong on both
sides of the ball.
Shore Breakers 3, Laker Girls 1 - The Shore Breakers’ offense was
provided by goals from Marta Tena, Ashleigh Smith and Victoria Burkhead.
Critical midfield play was turned in by Kelly Cooper, Elizabeth Barzegar
and Savannah Perkins, while in the backfield, Sarah Carvelli, Jennifer
Zimmerman and goalie Korinne Korman each played well.
