Girls tennis: CdM breezes past Capistrano Valley

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO - The Corona del Mar High girls tennis team had
little trouble with Capistrano Valley, defeating the host Cougars, 16-2,
in nonleague action Tuesday.
Brittany Reitz made her 2001 debut and easily swept in singles
competition, winning 18 of 19 games.
Brittany Holland (6-1, 6-1, 6-1) also swept in singles, while in
doubles, the Sea Kings (2-0), ranked No. 1 in CIF Southern Section
Division IV won eight of nine sets.
Next up for CdM is a home showdown with Division I’s top-ranked team,
Peninsula, Thursday at 3 p.m.

Doubles - Snyder-Steele (CdM) def. Salgazo-Petrik, 6-2, def.
Woog-Williams, 6-0, def. Gosweilee-Locke, 6-0; Tenerelli-Mutzke (CdM)
won. 6-3, 6-3, 6-0; Claster-Bryan (CdM) won, 7-5, lost, 6-7, won, 6-0.
