Community college women’s volleyball: Pirates win again

SAN MARCOS - The Orange Coast College women’s volleyball team
remained undefeated, winning its fourth match of the season Friday. The
Pirates (4-0) defeated host Palomar, 30-24, 20-22, 20-17, in
nonconference action, as Coach Chuck Cutenese called the victory, “a real
big win.”
Sophomore Katja Muller led the Pirates with 16 kills, while Krystle
Davis and Casey Petersen added nine each.
Freshman setter Amber McCarthy amassed 43 assists, and Davis
jump-served for five aces.
Daylyn Kelley, a Costa Mesa High product, served 23 times with no
errors and had three aces.
The Comets dropped to 2-1.
