Community College men’s and women’s cross country: OCC women make

COSTA MESA - Orange Coast College freshman Michelle Icban and
sophomore Ryan Bousquet won their respective races in the Orange Coast
Classic Invitational Saturday at Fairview Park.
The Coast women’s team won first place with 23 points, a 62-point
differential of second-place Southwestern.
OCC men’s squad took third place with 81 points in the invitational
that featured 17 schools and 300 athletes.
In the women’s race, Icban completed the 5,000-meter run in 19:24.
Lindsay Allen, who came in fourth (20:07), continues to show steady
improvement, OCC Coach John Goldman said. Katie Mais (20:15), Suzette
Dinoso (20:25) and Heather Huggins (20:43), finished sixth, seventh and
eighth, respectively, while Natalie St. Andre, a Newport Harbor High
product, came in at 14th (21:01).
Bousquet, the sophomore transfer from Arizona State University, won
the 6,500-meter run in 19:43, placing him among the top 10 best times on the course.
Allen Childress (21:04) finished 17th out of 132 runners.
