Youth Soccer: OCU’s Rush earns 2-0 shutout

The Orange Coast United Rush under 15 girls soccer team earned a
2-0 victory over the Pacific Soccer Club on Sunday.
The game was scoreless going into the second half, but Jasmine Day
scored 15 minutes into the half to break the scoring drought. Twenty
minutes later, Day received a pass from Breanne Ogden and put a second
goal away. Defenders Aurora Leport, Ahlia Kattan and Kellie Flint pitched
in on defense while goalkeeper Rachel Waters made five saves for the
shutout.
On Saturday, the Rush came from behind to defeat the WSC Velocity,
4-2.
Velocity sped to an early lead, scoring goals in the first and eighth
minutes. Rush answered with three goals in the first half. Rachel Yelsey
scored with an assist from Cameron Best. Raquel Minky added a goal off of
a 25-yard throw-in by Katya Eadington. Diane Von Der Ahe had the final
goal of the first half.
In the second half, Rush extended its lead on a goal from Jessica
Mossbarger, who scored on a 20-yard shot. Waters had 12 saves.
