Pop Warner Football: Mighty Mites earn second victory of season by

defeating Stanton Raiders
The Mighty Mite Mustangs defeated the Stanton Raiders, 32-6. Mark
Contreras had two punt returns of 48 and 54 yards for touchdowns in the
first quarter, giving the Mustangs a 14-0 lead. The Mighty Mite defense
was led by Brady Moreno, Hans Anderle, Kevin Salyer, Quinn Stirdivant,
Tre LeEle and Adam Spies. Also chipping in defensively were Shane Davies,
Dakota Gilbert and Justin Hobbs. The Mustangs ended the game with a
65-yard kick-off return by Derek Amendola. The Mighty Mites improved to
2-1.
In other Pop Warner football action:
* Junior Pee Wee Black Mustangs 20, Cypress Comanches 6 - Jesse Dawson
opened the game on Saturday with a touchdown in the first two minutes and
Andrew Millian ran in the extra point to give the Mustangs an early lead.
The Comanches scored six points during the first half, but the Mustangs
answered in the second half with two touchdowns by Josh Erno. Dylan Gray
ran in the extra point after the last touchdown to seal the win. The
Mustangs’ Joe Galvez, Matt Wood, Erno and Jim Swantusch were strong on
defense. Also contributing on defense were Brandon Moreno, Manuel Gomez,
Vince Galvez and Bobby Lenke. Millian played well on offense, making a
25-yard pass to Swantusch to highlight the second quarter. The Mustangs
improved to 3-0. They are the only Pop Warner team that is undefeated.
