Sowers Middle School held a flag ceremony Monday on campus, raising
Old Glory to full staff. Principal Paul Morrow announced to the 1,250
students that last week’s fund-raising efforts by the school raised
$10,140 to benefit the New York Times 9/11 Neediest Families Fund.
The fund is comprised of seven social services agencies, Morrow said.
“The generosity of our students, their families and friends, and our
community, was nothing short of tremendous,” he said.
A fresh face
The staff and students of Ocean View High invite the public to join
them for their Campus Pride Day on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. The
school plans to beautify its campus with gardening, window washing, field
repair, painting and trash cleanup. All community assistance is welcomed.
The school is located at 17071 Gothard St. at the corner of Gothard
Street and Warner Avenue.
