Newport Beach company announces positive results
Newport Beach-based American Vanguard expects its fourth quarter
and fiscal year 2002 financial results were positive, the company
announced Jan. 15.
For the fourth quarter, the company expects net sales to be in the
$30 million range, representing an 8% increase over the fourth
quarter of 2001.
Net sales for the fiscal year 2002 are likely to exceed $100
million, a 15% increase over fiscal 2001 levels.
The company grew fiscal 2002 net income at a faster rate than
sales. It reported a net income of $5.6 million or $1.43 per diluted share for 2001.
Body Wise Fitness Center to host open house
Body Wise Fitness Center, a new Newport Beach facility, will host
an open house on Thursday, Jan. 23, from 5 to 8 p.m. The evening will
feature food, power shakes, Body Wise protein bars and a drawing for
personal training packages.
The new center will specialize in personal training, golf
conditioning, rehab, sports-specific training, cardio and nutrition.

Sponsorships wanted for Costa Mesa anniversary
The city of Costa Mesa is seeking corporate sponsorships for the
50th anniversary of the city’s incorporation, which will take place
June 29.
The city is inviting businesses to purchase the $200 celebratory
banners that will announce the event and bear the name of the
businesses.
The yearlong celebration, called “CostaMazing,” will offer
businesses and associations other opportunities to be involved.
