Center board elects two new members
The Orange County Performing Arts Center Board of Directors
earlier this month welcomed new members Debra L. Reed and Sally
Crockett.
Reed is president and chief financial officer of Sempra Energy
Utilities, the umbrella for San Diego-based Sempra Energy’s regulated
business units. Crockett owns Newport Beach-based interior design
firm Crockett Concepts. The women will serve three-year terms.
Reed became president of San Diego Gas & Electric in July 2000 and
then president of Southern California Gas Co. in January 2002. Both
companies are subsidiaries of Sempra Energy. She originally joined
Southern California Gas Co. in 1978, and has served as vice president
of human resources and administrative services and manager of
environmental engineering and personnel relations. She served as
senior vice president of the company for five years beginning in 1995
and then became president of Energy Distribution Services, the
company’s operations for residential, small commercial and industrial
customers.
At the 23rd annual Tribute to Women and Industry in May 2002, Reed
received an award from the YWCA of San Diego County. She has also
received the League of Women Voters Glass Ceiling Award. She received
her bachelor’s in civil engineering from USC.
Crockett chaired The Sound of Music Chapter of The Guilds of the
Orange County Performing Arts and its annual fund-raiser for two
years. She and her husband have helped underwrite The Center’s annual
Candlelight Concert.
Crockett opened Crockett Concepts in 1984 and has completed
projects in Michigan, New Mexico, Santa Barbara. La Quinta and
Newport Coast.
She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel
Hills and has lived in Newport Coast for more than three years.
