WHAT HAPPENED:
The City Council approved a license agreement with Southern
California Edison to allow continued public use of Langenbeck Park,
on Magnolia Street, just south of Garfield Avenue.
WHAT IT MEANS:
The council is preserving the public’s right to continue using an
8.19-acre parcel of land that is part of Langenbeck Park.
Edison owns the land, which makes up about half of the total
acreage of the park, Real Estate Services Manager Amy Bodek said.
The city pays Edison $1,638 per year, under the terms of the
agreement.
WHAT HAPPENED:
The City Council hired a real estate broker to market and sell a
small parcel of Downtown property owned by the city.
WHAT IT MEANS:
The council hired Lee & Associates to handle the 438 Main St.
transaction. The firm is entitled to a 6% broker commission, upon
completion of the sale. The property is owned by the Redevelopment
Agency and is being sold to generate revenue for the city.
The broker will begin accepting offers on the property, which now
houses a property management company.
