Breaker poloists again at No. 5

Laguna Beach High’s girls’ water polo team, coming off two

impressive nonleague victories last weekend, was again ranked fifth

in the CIF-Southern Section Division II poll.

Rankings were released by the Southern Section office on Monday.

Laguna Beach defeated Tustin and then-No. 2 Villa Park, a loss

that dropped the Spartans to No. 4 in the division rankings.

The Breakers were 13-3 overall heading into Wednesday’s showdown

with Corona del Mar, which again heads the Division II poll.

Corona del Mar was followed by Canyon of Anaheim and No. 3

University.

In boys’ basketball rankings, Laguna Beach continued to receive

points in the Division IV-AA poll, but not enough to break into the

Top 10.

The IV-AA poll is headed by Orange Lutheran.
