Sage Hill has Wright stuff

CYPRESS -- Freshman center Haywood Wright had 13 points and 15

rebounds to lead visiting Sage Hill School to a 50-31 Academy League girls basketball victory at Oxford Academy Tuesday night.

Leading, 16-11, after one period, the Lightning (10-4, 2-3 in

league) blanked the Patriots in the second quarter, the first time

Sage Hill has ever held a team scoreless in one period.

Debbie Yoder-Lee had 10 points, five steals and three assists for

the winners, who also had 11 points from Katie Puishys and 10 from

Carrie Clark.

Sage Hill continues the hunt in the Academy League on Thursday

when the Lightning travels to Brethren Christian (6 p.m.).
