Don F. Gates

Services for 50-year Balboa Island resident Don F. Gates will be

held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Newport Center United Methodist

Church in Corona del Mar. Mr. Gates died Monday of natural causes. He

was 88. Mr. Gates is survived by wife Barbara Gates; sons Don and

Peter Gates; daughter Marilyn Bershear; stepsons Charles and Donald

Ruthroff; stepdaughter Salli Middleton; 12 grandchildren; and five

great-grandchildren.
