CdM quartet sign on to college programs

Corona del Mar High seniors Lauren Shepherdson, Paige Janes,

Elisha Morgan and Alivia Mazura have signed their letters of intent

and the girls from the CdM soccer team will move on to NCAA Division

I programs. Shepherdson and Janes will remain teammates at USC, while

Morgan will play for UC Santa Barbara and Mazura will compete at UC

Berkeley.

Shepherdson, who broke her ankle two weeks ago, was last year’s

Pacific Coast League Co-Most Valuable Player. She earned first-team

All-CIF Division IV honors last season, and received third-team

All-CIF and second-team All-PCL recognition as a sophomore. She said

she recently had surgery on the ankle and it will take 3-4 months of

recovery.

Janes also earned first-team All-CIF Division IV accolades last

season. She was third-team All-CIF as a sophomore, and she has twice

been first-team All-PCL, after earning second-team all-league laurels

as a freshman.

Morgan earned All-CIF recognition three straight years. Last

season she was on the second team, and she was on the first team her

first two varsity seasons. She recovered from knee surgery during the

off-season before she became a junior. Morgan has been a first-team

all-league honoree the last three years.

Mazura also received second-team All-CIF and first-team All-PCL

laurels last season. She played club soccer her first two years of

high school.
