MARATHON TRAINING AID

A new online feature can help runners and walkers better prepare for the Avia Orange County Marathon, which is set to take place Jan. 6, 2008.

Created by realbuzz.com, a UK-based lifestyle and community networking site focused on running, health and fitness, individuals can go to www.ocmarathon.com to plan and track their training runs in a system similar to that of Mapquest.

After creating an account, individuals can pick a starting point, navigate through area maps and create a desired course.

The feature will record distances while providing street names and landmarks.

Runners and walkers can also post blogs and create discussions groups on the marathon website.
