The Corona Del Mar Girls U-12 division soccer champions finished their weekend with a 2-1 win over a very talented and tough Costa Mesa team. The victory secured the Mayors Cup for region 57. The team, lead by coach John Pedicini, won all three of their matches with contributions from every player. Offensive standouts Taylor Pedicini, Sara Reynoso and Alyssa Cartiel kept the pressure on while Sydnee Grissenger and Gabriella Glover anchored an impressive defense. Lexi Barket and Hannah Crane dominated the middle of the field giving little opportunity to Costa Mesa’s potent offense.
