Three-way nonleague meet
NEWPORT BEACH — Senior 130-pounder Eddie Garcia recorded two pins as Newport Harbor High defeated El Toro, 53-24, and Corona del Mar, 49-24.
Garcia pinned El Toro’s Matthew Bancroft in the second period in 2 minutes, 40 seconds. Garcia pinned Corona del Mar’s Cody Longwith in the opening period in 55 seconds.
Newport Harbor (4-6) had 103-pounder Jesus Diaz, 135-pounder Blake Alonso, 140-pounder Ryan Cerrato, 145-pounder Kevin Millan, 160-pounder Eric Nordstrom, 171-pounder John Leyva and heavyweight Cameron Rausch each finish 2-0.
Rausch is now 11-0 with 10 pins.
CdM (5-5) beat El Toro, 42-30. CdM’s 112-pounder Ryan Grainger, 119-pounder Hunter Thomas and 189-pounder Kendall Pick each pinned their respective two opponents
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

COSTA MESA — Junior point guard Erika Soto finished with 17 points and sophomore Kassie Stratton had 18 points in the Eagles’ nonleague game Tuesday.
Estancia (4-1) has surpassed last year’s three-game win total.

Senior Ashley Rendon added three goals for Mesa (4-3), which plays host to Bolsa Grande Thursday.

COSTA MESA — Seniors Dana Gentling and Ayla Medina scored one goal each for the Mustangs in the nonleague game at Estancia Tuesday.
Natalie Argueta and Bree LeBare had an assist each, while senior goalie Jessica Rubright stood out with 12 saves for Mesa (3-0-4), which plays at Laguna Hills tonight at 7.
Rubright recorded six saves in each half.
Beckman also remained unbeaten at 2-0-4.

IRVINE — Sophomore Erin O’Neil scored off a corner kick from junior Nushin Tasbihchi for the Eagles in their nonleague game Tuesday.
Junior Ally Wallace had eight saves for Estancia (1-1-1), which plays host to El Dorado Thursday.
