Holocaust survivor to speak Thursday
Leon Leyson, the youngest survivor of the factory made famous by the movie “Schindler’s List” will share his story, “Saved by an Angel,” at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Surf & Sand Resort in Laguna Beach.
Sponsored by the Chabad Jewish Center in Laguna Beach, Leyson will describe life inside the factory of Oscar Schindler, who saved the lives of 1,200 Jews during the Nazi regime in World War II. Leyson was a machinist in the factory at 13, and was freed, along with his family, after five years. Tickets are $18 in advance or $20 at the door. Choir and handbells to perform Sunday
Laguna Presbyterian Church will present a Joyous Christmas Concert featuring the Chancel Choir and Agape Handbells at 5 p.m. Sunday in Fellowship Hall.
The hall is in the middle of Second Street between Forest Avenue and Mermaid Street.
