Breakers honor top performers of 2008

The Laguna Beach High football team held its 75th awards banquet Dec. 10 at Aliso Creek Inn, honoring the 2008 squad the set several school records.
Below are the award winners for 2008:
Red Guyer Coach’s Award: Kyle Jenkins and Jack Monroe; Offensive Lineman of the Year: Mitch McMullin; Defensive Lineman of the Year: Luis Ocampo; Skill Player of the Year: Andrew Paddon and Alec Jaffe; Special Teams MVP: Ethan Quirarte; Defensive MVP: Jeremy Kaplan and Nate Wilson; Offensive MVP: Chris Paul and Austin Paxson; Breaker of the Year (Team MVP): John Snedegar and Zach Smith.
In addition new members were named to the Ring of Fire and were selected “” by existing ring members “” based on a varsity player whose tremendous efforts and play chanted the outcome or momentum of a game. Returning members are all seniors: Jaffe, Kaplan, Smith and Dillon Pierce.
The 2008 Ring of Fire selections are: senior Luis Ocampo, senior John Snedegar, senior Mitch McMullin, junior Chris Hilleman, sophomore Chris Paul and senior Andrew Paddon.
