Film festival looking for filmmakers under 18

Future Spielbergs and Fassbinders take note: The Newport Beach Film Festival is calling for entries from student filmmakers for its “2009 Youth Film Showcase presented by Volcom.” The free event will screen films by 18-and-younger filmmakers and features a question-and-answer session with the filmmakers.

The competition is open to entries from anywhere. The short films can be live action or animated, in any genre, including drama, comedy, documentary, experimental, musical or science fiction. Entrants can be individuals, groups or entire classes.
