Drunk driving accident injures four, police say

A four-car collision on Bear Street near the 405 Freeway on Tuesday sent two people to the hospital, tangled up rush-hour traffic and led to a drunk driving arrest, Costa Mesa police said.
Details were still being sorted out Tuesday night, but police said David Meyers, 25, of Ladera Ranch, was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI, according to Lt. Paul Dondero. The crash happened about 5:25 p.m.
“It was just nuts; it affected traffic quite a bit,” Dondero said, adding that police had to pay particular attention to traffic from the Bear Street off-ramp contributing to the already long line caused by the accident.
All of the drivers complained of some pain from the accident, but only two, including Meyers, were taken to the hospital, mostly for cuts, Dondero said.
