Emulex announces promotion

Costa Mesa-based Emulex Corp., a company specializing in converged networking solutions, has named industry veteran Jimmy Yam as the new vice president of sales for the Asia Pacific region.

“I am thrilled to extend Emulex’s presence in the Asia Pacific, which is one of the fastest growing regions for IT spending,” Yam said in a prepared statement.

He has 25 years of experience in finance, management, marketing and sales in the region’s information technology industry, according to a news release from Emulex. Yam previously served as general manager for emerging markets at EMC. He has also worked for NEC, Dell and IBM.
