Biola def. Vanguard

LA MIRADA — Jamie Heenan, a Newport Harbor High product, had 15 kills and eight digs for the Lions in the Golden State Athletic Conference match Thursday.

Biola, ranked No. 3 in the NAIA, won, 15-25, 25-16, 25-10, 25-19.

Lisa Morgan finished with nine kills and 15 digs, while Alexandra Leja had 22 assists and Kelsey Smith had 13 assists for Vanguard (10-6, 2-5 in conference).

Ariel Strickler led the Lions with 16 digs.

Christine Douglas led Biola with 26 kills and seven digs.

Vanguard will play at Westmont Saturday at 7 p.m.
