Boys’ basketball: Etiwanda wins in Chicago to improve to 5-0 [Updated]

Etiwanda made its weekend trip to Chicago a productive one on Saturday, defeating Marian Catholic, 74-68, in the Chicago Elite Classic to improve to 5-0.
Kenny Barnes scored 24 points and Jordan McLaughlin had 19. Kentucky-bound point guard Tyler Ulis had 30 points for Marian Catholic.
Etiwanda is ranked No. 2 in Southern California by The Times, but the scary part about the Eagles is that they will get a lot better on Jan. 6 when 6-foot-9 Rancho Cucamonga transfer Jordan Naughton becomes eligible.
Redondo (4-1) was beaten by Benet Academy, 55-46.
St. John Bosco (3-2) defeated Whitney Young, 62-59, on a Daniel Hamilton three-point shot at the buzzer. Here’s the link to a video clip of Hamilton’s shot.
