Boys’ basketball: John R. Wooden Award names high school players of the year

The John R. Wooden Award Committee announced its high school basketball players of the year on Wednesday.
In the City Section, Keith Fisher of Westchester received the player of the year award.
The Southern Section award winners: Lonzo Ball, Chino Hills (Division I); John Edgar, Chino HIlls (Division II); De’Anthony Melton, Crespi (Division III); Shacquille Dawkins, Alemany (Division IV); Cody Riley, Sierra Canyon (Division V); Cartrell Thompson, Price (Division VI).
