Kansas City Chiefs will try to revive their bounce-back season

The Kansas City Chiefs, who opened the season with nine consecutive wins, will try to snap a three-game losing streak Sunday against the Redskins. A victory at Washington would give the Chiefs a shot at making history.

Only four teams to win two or fewer games in a season were able to record double-digit victories the following year.

If the Chiefs, who were 2-14 last year, were to get their 10th victory of 2013 on Sunday, they’d equal the 1975 Baltimore Colts and 1963 Oakland Raiders. The Colts and Raiders had each gone 2-12 the previous season.

Kansas City could set a record, though, by winning three of their four remaining games.

The 2012 Indianapolis Colts and the 2008 Miami Dolphins won 11 games following seasons with two or fewer wins. The Colts had gone 2-14 in 2011 while the Dolphins were 1-15 in 2007.

After playing at Washington, the Chiefs finish the season by traveling to Oakland, hosting Indianapolis and taking on the Chargers in San Diego, with the latter two vying for AFC playoff spots along with Kansas City.
