Bell Gardens: Allen Ruiz, 16

Allen Ruiz, a 16-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Saturday, Oct. 31, in the 6000 block of Gotham Street in Bell Gardens, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s officials.

Ruiz was standing in a driveway when someone walked up to him, yelled a gang name, and opened fire, said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner’s office. He was shot in the chest about 7:36 p.m. and was pronounced dead at 8:10 p.m., Winter said.
