I think I’ve located the middle of nowhere.

Moreno Valley Rancho Verde is not only a long way from my pad in Orange, but it’s about 15 minutes south of the 60 freeway, somewhere near March Air Force Base. It’s a beautiful location, nestled on the edge of Moreno Valley, and it features one of the few natural-turf surfaces out here.

They’re charging 3 bucks to park, which is unheard of for a high school venue. I hope that’s not the reason there are only about 80 fans in the Bloomington side of the stands at kickoff, and probably 150 (counting the band) on Rancho Verde’s side.

Rancho Verde just scored on a 15-yard touchdown pass to take a 7-0 lead three minutes into the game.
