In announcing that the February issue will be Geo’s last, Cleon T. Knapp, chairman of Los Angeles-based Knapp Communication Corp., said the magazine was suffering unacceptable losses even though advertising and circulation revenue has risen steadily for the last three years. Geo was launched in Germany in 1976 by Gruner & Jahr AG & Co., which also publishes a French version of the magazine. Knapp, publisher of Architectural Digest and Bon Appetit magazines, bought the U.S. edition in September, 1981.
