Black Members of CCC
For research purposes, I am trying to locate former black members who were connected or affiliated with the Civilian Corps (CCC) during the 1930s and 1940s. It is known that many of these persons reside in California and areas serviced by the Los Angeles Times.
As a native of Oakland, I have over the years become very interested in to what extent black Californians participated in the CCC, one of the most popular relief agencies created by President Franklin D. Roosevelt during the Depression years.
Anyone interested in helping me locate former black CCC enrollees can write to Olen Cole Jr., 4 Rehobeth Court, Greensboro, N.C. 27406.
