Supervisor Harriett Wieder’s Trip to South Africa

As a tax-paying citizen of Orange County, I am appalled that Supervisor Harriett Wieder had the audacity to go to South Africa as a guest of the most racist regime in the world.

When are our elected officials going to realize that supporting dictatorial and suppressive governments is not in our country’s best interest. By accepting an invitation from such a repressive government, she is saying to the suppressed people in South Africa, that the United States supports Botha’s regime. Wake Up!
