Probes Confirm Gold Near Prague

PRAGUE, Czechoslovakia — Exploratory probes have confirmed the existence of large gold deposits near the capital, with an estimated value of $1 billion, a state geologist said Friday.
The ore is in the Celina Mokrsko district along the Vltava River, about 35 miles south of Prague, according to a report in the Communist Party newspaper. There have been previous gold finds in the district.
