Boy, that Mike Ezzo of Arcadia (Calendar Letters, July 7) really hit the nail on the head: There’s no doubt that the sentiments expressed in Bruce Springsteen’s music will eventually lead to the re-naming of Ezzo’s Arcadia to something like “Leninville West.”
However, regarding his comment that the Constitution’s promise of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness “. . . can be found in the history book of any 12-year-old student. . .”: a quick check of that history book will show that that phrase is from the Declaration of Independence, not the Constitution.
It’s open-minded (and meticulous) patriots like Mike Ezzo that make this country what it is.
