A house was destroyed by fire Sunday while its occupants were out of town, the San Diego Fire Department reported. The fire in the single-story house in the 3600 block of Menlo Avenue began about 5:45 a.m. and caused an estimated $150,000 in damage. Neighbors told fire officials that the residents were on vacation.
The Metro Arson Strike Team was investigating.
