The Texas Rangers traded pitcher Dave Stewart to the Philadelphia Phillies for Rich Surhoff in a swap of right-handers. Surhoff will join the Rangers in Anaheim after having spent most of the season with the Phillies’ Triple-A team in Portland, where he was 7-7, with a 3.17 ERA.
Stewart was 0-6, with a 5.42 ERA.
