Chapman Splits in Volleyball Tournament

Chapman College split its pool-play matches in the opening round of the BYU-Pepsi Invitational Women’s Volleyball Tournament Thursday at Brigham Young University.

The Panthers, the only NCAA Division 2 team in the tournament, lost to Illinois State, 15-6, 15-7, 15-3, but rebounded to beat Utah State, 15-7, 15-2, 15-11. Chapman faces Idaho today for the right to advance to the tournament’s championship bracket.
